The DDCS V4.1 CNC Control Unit is a high-performance numerical control (NC) system designed for multi-axis motion control in industrial automation systems. This unit interprets G-code based machining programs to generate synchronized and precise motion commands across four independent axes (X, Y, Z, A). The core operating principle involves a 400 MHz ARM-based main processor handling high-level calculations, user interface management, and program interpretation, while concurrently, an integrated FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) architecture executes real-time, deterministic pulse generation, I/O (input/output) signal processing, and high-speed interpolation algorithms. This hybrid architecture minimizes command processing latency, ensuring dynamic and uninterrupted operational flow with machining accuracy up to 0.001 mm and maximum motion speeds up to 30 m/min. Communication ports include Ethernet, USB, RS232, and RS485, facilitating easy integration with external sensors, actuators, tool changers, robotic systems, or a central Manufacturing Execution System (MES). 16 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs enable direct control and status monitoring of various peripheral devices such as limit switches, emergency stop buttons, cooling fluids, and tool magazines. This control unit is positioned as a critical component for precise cutting, engraving, and shaping operations across a wide range of industrial applications, including metalworking (milling, turning, plasma cutting, grinding, drilling, mold making, automotive parts manufacturing) and the woodworking/advertising industry (CNC routers, engraving machines, laser cutting systems, 3D printers).
